While I’m editing….Got any lesfic recommendations?

I’m curious about the latest and greatest #lesfic books you’ve read. I’ve not been able to read many books these last months. But I know sooner or later, I’ll go into total lesfic binge read mode again and I’d love a list of what you’ve enjoyed 😀

So is Laline! She just posted on the discussion board about it. Would you mind letting us know what your recommendations are? 🙂 Click here to go Laline’s post on the discussion board.

Well, have you ever read The Color Purple? (Alice Walker) It is an amazing book…but, not a light one. Not in the least. It’s deep and serious and tragic at times. If you’re not looking for that, I wouldn’t read it, but if you’re looking for something incredible (which does include a lesbian love story) you may want to check it out. (If you do, I’d love to hear your thoughts about it.) Here is a brief synopsis:

An epic tale spanning forty years in the life of Celie, an African-American woman living in the South who survives incredible abuse and bigotry. After Celie’s abusive father marries her off to the equally debasing “Mister” Albert Johnson, things go from bad to worse, leaving Celie to find companionship anywhere she can. She perseveres, holding on to her dream of one day being reunited with her sister in Africa.

The Color Purple has been on my to-be-read list for a while for other reasons. I didn’t realize it had a love story. Bumping it up on my list. Thanks!

I think I also need to bump it up my list! Thx for the recommendation. Think I’ll need some courage to read this book, though… One day, I’ll get up and decide today’s the day!

When that day comes, I do not think that you’ll regret it. (To me) it’s an exceptional piece of work.
