The Diva Story Early Access: Excerpt Part 19

Hello!

Enjoying the weekend? 🙂 I’m recording part 19 as we speak. Early release of the full audio episode is scheduled for Monday evening (European time). In the meantime…Here’s a little somethin’ somethin’ to read.

Oh, wait, maybe one more thought I want to share 😀  Last night, I realized I was missing Hannah and Milly. I really, really wanted to spend some time with them (= write)  instead of going to bed.

I didn’t know I could get this attached to characters… So, here they are in Part 19 of The Diva Story!

“Are you hungry?”

Hannah was lying in bed, her legs tangled in the soft sheets. Her hand was resting on her bare stomach.

“Eh… No, I already had breakfast,” Milly said.

“Oh come on, that was hours ago.”

Milly pushed herself up on her elbow. The sheets around her slid down, giving Hannah a generous view of Milly’s soft breasts. She swallowed hard and looked away.

Milly scanned the walls.

“There’s no clock there,” Hannah said.

“Oh.” Milly let herself fall back onto the mattress. She pulled the sheets up.

Hannah met Milly’s eyes. She couldn’t stop the corners of her mouth from curving up. Milly, too, smiled.

A loud grumbling sound interrupted the moment. Hannah’s eyebrows shot up.

“Maybe I am a little bit hungry…” Milly admitted.

Hannah grinned triumphantly.

Milly rolled her eyes. “I guess you’re considering something really unhealthy,” she said, her tone playful.

“I run a chocolate company. What did you expect?”

“Huh. Good point,” Milly said. “But you don’t actually work with the chocolate, do you?”

Hannah quirked an eyebrow. “No. Why?”

Milly shrugged. “Oh, I don’t know. I always think of you as…” she hesitated. “A business woman, I guess. Not a chocolatier.”

Hannah nodded. “That’s true. I used to help out with the chocolate when my mom had just opened her first store.”

“Did your mom work with the chocolate back then?”

“Oh, no… She always hired chocolatiers. She decorated the store and helped customers.”

Milly rolled onto her side. Her big innocent eyes scanned Hannah’s face.

“But you did enjoy creating things out of chocolate?”

Hannah smiled slowly. “Oh yes. But I wouldn’t call it creating. It was more like playing with chocolate.” She chucked. “I wasn’t much help.”

Milly was drawing patterns on Hannah’s shoulder with her fingertip. “It sounds like a lot of fun.”

Hannah took in a deep, contented breath. “Yeah, it was.”

She stared at the ceiling. Her legs and arms felt heavy. Her heart, however, was light with joy.

Hannah had never actually decided she would let this thing between Milly and herself happen. She knew it wasn’t wise. And yet, she had woken up feeling nothing but happy.

“I didn’t play much as a kid,” Milly said.

Hannah looked up at her beautiful face. Milly’s dark hair was dry by now, and it was a total mess. She looked adorable.

“You didn’t?” Hannah asked. She was curious about Milly’s past, but wasn’t sure Milly wanted to talk about it.

Milly slowly shook her head. She was staring down at her own fingers running up and down Hannah’s arm.

“It wasn’t my parents,” she said. “I was just very serious as a kid.”

“About singing?”

Milly smiled. “No, about everything.”

Hannah caught Milly’s hand. Her thumb rubbed Milly’s palm. “What did you do then? For fun, I mean.”

Milly met her gaze, her cheeks turning a pinkish red. “I listened to classical music a lot.”

“Are your parents music lovers?” Hannah didn’t want to straight out ask if Milly’s parents had forced this upon her from a young age.

“Nope. Not al all.” Milly lifted her shoulders. “They did like music. But easy stuff.” She chuckled. “I mean, more mainstream. Rock music. Pop.”

Hannah chuckled too. “I get it,” she said, “Music for normal people.”

Milly poked Hannah’s side. “Hey, careful there.”

Hannah wiggled her eyebrows. “Or what?”

Milly laughed. She moved a bit closer to Hannah. “Or….”

Hannah quirked an eyebrow expectantly. “Yes?”

Milly pursed her lips. After another 2 seconds, she shrugged. “Ok I have nothing. No good comeback.” She grinned.

Hannah laughed heartily. She wrapped her arm around Milly and pulled her closer. Milly snuggled up to Hannah. Her hair tickled Hannah’s nose. It smelled sweet, with a touch of chloride.

Hannah knew her own hair would need some shampoo and a good conditioner soon. She hated how dry it got after swimming.

“Do you want to shower and have some lunch downstairs?”

Milly slipped her hand under the sheets. “Hmmm. Not sure…” she mumbled. Her fingers moved up and down Hannah’s upper thigh.

Hannah bit her lip. She kissed Milly’s forehead. God, this day was almost too wonderful. She didn’t dare think about when it would end.

Would Milly go home in a few hours? Would she want to see Hannah again? Of course they would have to see each other again. But would she want to like…this?

Hannah’s thoughts were interrupted by Milly freeing herself from Hannah’s embrace. Her lips were curled into a confident grin and her dark eyes filled with fire.

Hannah’s breath caught when Milly crawled on top of her with the grace of a big cat. She straddled Hannah’s hips and pushed the sheets away.

Sorry, that’s all for today 😉

“Always leave them wanting more!” Well done Sigrid, you always accomplish the goal. Enjoying that neither Hannah or Milly ran away, Milly was making me nervous there for a second! 😉
