Howdy!
How are you doing today? I thought you might enjoy a short teaser excerpt on this Wednesday. 😉
Love,
Sigrid
Lea slowly became aware of birds singing in the tree near her window. She smiled and stretched out lazily. After blinking a few times, she saw that Emily was already awake.
“Hey,” Lea yawned, pulling up the sheets a little. A cool morning breeze tickled her skin.
Emily glanced to the side, her lips curving up. “Good morning.”
“Whatcha doing?” Lea asked, narrowing her eyes at the phone in Emily’s hands.
“Just checking my mail,” Emily replied, a bit sheepishly. “Sorry.”
Lea frowned. Emily usually didn’t check her phone in bed. When they were here, at Lea’s parents’ place, Emily even kept it switched off most of the time. She always said that her phone reminded her of the old life too much.
“It’s okay,” Lea croaked, her voice still gruff from a long night of sleep. “Anything interesting?”
Emily nodded slowly, showing Lea her screen. “That email from Full Circle Games arrived.”
Lea had to think for a second before she remembered what Emily was talking about. She rubbed her cheek. “Oh, right! What does it say?”
“Eh, it says they’d be happy to arrange two plane tickets for us on Monday,” Emily said, shaking her head. “Business class.”
“Woah,” Lea giggled, “Fancy.”
Emily huffed and swiped down. “They’re also offering us a small suite in the theme park hotel.”
Lea snuggled a little closer to Emily, wrapping an arm around her waist.
Chuckling, Emily continued, “We get to choose between the space suite or the fantasy suite.”
“For real?” Lea asked, lifting her head so she could see the email. The letters were too small, though.
“Yup, for real,” Emily replied.
Lea tried to imagine what the space suite would look like. Would there be a bed in the shape of a UFO? Or a rocket?
“I told them I don’t have kids, so I have no idea why they sent me this,” Emily continued.
Lea grinned. “Hey, those rooms sound like fun. I wouldn’t wanna go there with kids. I would go there and have fun *like* a kid!”
Emily lowered her phone. “Are you saying you want to go?”
“No, no, I’m not saying that,” Lea said, but then hesitated. “I think.”
