Chatty Update (Schedule next episode)

Hello hello,

I was feeling chatty, so here’s an old school behind-the-scenes blog post! First of all: I am working on part 4 of The Diva Story and there should be an early release on Saturday (*crosses fingers*).

This morning, I finalised the script with my increasingly critical wife 😉 The rest of the day, I’ll be working on the outline for Diva Story parts 6 to 12.

It’s the first time in a month I get to focus on the story, and it feels like a huge relief, to be honest. I hope I can give myself more time ‘off’ for writing in the future.

Right now, every episode seems to take more time and more effort to produce 😀 This isn’t completely unexpected. Most parts are a bit longer than the average Blogger Story episode, and I’ve added a lot more detail to this new world.

I used to think I’d find some efficiency, or scalability, to make the production process shorter or easier. I was thinking like a marketer, it seems. Because as a creator, I now see this might never happen!

Balancing all this work with my money job isn’t easy. As you might have heard at the end of part 3 😉 But it’s so worth it! I can’t imagine my life without the podcast anymore.

I’m really just chatting, aren’t I? Better get back to work.. Hope you are well too, and thank you for all your support. Your comments and coffee contributions give me so much energy when I need it the most!

If you can figure out how to make creatives do their thing more efficiently and with scalability in mind, bottle it – you’d make a mint. The problem is creatives rarely stop striving for doing things better or trying new techniques, because if they do, inspiration starts to sputter.

Take as much time as you need – we all like the direction your creativity is taking you. 🙂

JSYK, I can’t imagine my life without the podcast either! 😀
As someone who works with graphic design, I can safely say that there’s no way to do our work in shorter time. Sure, we get faster when working with our tools because of all the practice, but we’re always looking to make things better and we focus more and more on details. So, in my opinion, when work becomes easy or fast, it’s because we’re not paying attention anymore and it’s become a mechanical process.
